Overseas Investment Rises In Hefei

Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui Province, ratified the establishment of 16 overseas-funded enterprises during the first four months of this year, doubling the figure of the same 1999 period.

These enterprises used US$20.39 million of overseas contractual investment, a rise of 227 percent on a yearly basis.

The improvement of local investment environment is considered the key factor leading to the growing inflow of overseas capital.

The city issued a regulation this year to offer better services for overseas-funded enterprises through accepting supervision by those firms and introducing measures of rewards and punishment.

Hefei also set up a hotline to deal with problems involving overseas investors.
