China Expects to Export 45 Million Tons of Coal This Year

China expects to export a record 45 million tons of coal by the end of this year, a record high in history.

According to the State Administration of Coal Industry, China is expanding its coal exports and world market shares by stepping up construction of export coal production bases and improving coal quality.

The country's coal sector is showing favorable growth and coal supplies exceeding demand has been eased in some parts of the country.

China's exported 15.99 million tons of coal in the first four months this year, an increase of 4.9 million tons over the same period last year.

Increasing coal exports is of great significance for the sustainable development of China's coal industry, said an official with the coal administration.

Increasing coal exports will allow China's coal industry to further open markets around the world.
