Moldova Reaffirms "One-China" Policy

Moldovan President Petr Luchinsky reiterated Tuesday that his country sticks to the "one-China" policy and seeks to develop cooperation with China in various fields, reports reaching here said.

Moldova considers Taiwan as an inalienable part of China, and counts on China's support in its economic and social reforms, Luchinsky said at the airport of Chisinau, the country's capital, before leaving for a five-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin.

He said China's experience can be applied in Moldova, and China could help his country to establish relations with other countries and to explore new markets "little known to our Moldovan manufacturers."

Luchinsky said he is expected to sign several agreements during his China visit, including accords on avoiding double taxation and cooperation in civil aviation and health-care.
