China's First Securities WAP Website Opens
China has started its first securities WAP (wireless application protocol) website in Beijing: www.158china.com.
The wireless website -- wap.158china.com -- now provides WAP cellular phone users access to financial news, instant stock quotes, commentary and stock market advice.
Website spokesman, Liang Yonggang, said in about one month, online stock trading services would be opened simultaneously on www.158china.com and the wireless wap.158china.com.
The website also aims to provide customized services. Leading web portals in China, including www.sina.com.cn and www.sohu.com have recently opened their WAP websites.
Though China's WAP mobile phone users are currently very limited, industrial sources said the potential for mobile Internet services is very big in China.
