Our Daily Reporter Awarded Yugoslavian Medal

The All-China Journalists Association and the embassy of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in China hosted a ceremony Wednesday for the awarding of a Yugoslavian Star Medal to Lu Yansong, a reporter from our daily.

Yugoslavian ambassador to China Slobodan Unkovic, on behalf of Yugoslavian President Slobodan Milosevic, conferred the medal on Lu, who had covered NATO's bombing of Yugoslavia.

Unkovic said that Lu and many other Chinese reporters exposed NATO's invasion of Yugoslavia and let the world know the truth. The Yugoslavian government expressed its gratitude for the support of the Chinese government and its people, he said.

Lu said that he will continue to promote mutual understanding between the peoples of China and Yugoslavia.

Shao Huaze, ACJA president, attended the ceremony.
