Clinton, Arafat to Meet in Washington in Mid-June: AlbrightUS President Bill Clinton will meet with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat on June 14 in the White House,visiting US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright announced Tuesday. Albright made the announcement at a press conference after two-hour talks in the West Bank city of Ramallah with Arafat.Israeli and Palestinian negotiators will resume their final- status talks early next week in Washington, said Albright. Albright arrived in the Middle East region from Moscow Monday in an effort to bridge the gaps between Israel and the Palestinians in reaching a framework agreement on final-status issues. She held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak in Jerusalem Monday and is scheduled to meet him again later Tuesday. She will also meet Israeli President Ezer Weizman and her Israeli counterpart David Levy during her return visit to Jerusalem. She is due to arrive in Egypt Wednesday morning for discussions with President Hosni Mubarak and Syrian Foreign Minister Faruk Shareh.
