Singapore Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew will be in Tokyo, Japan, from June 7 to June 11, 2000 and will visit China from June 11 to 15, 2000, it was officially announced Tuesday.
According to a statement issued Tuesday by Singapore Prime Minister's Office, the senior minister will participate in a symposium at the Nikkei Conference and attend the funeral of the late Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi during his stay in Tokyo.
The statement said that Singapore Minister for Home Affairs Wong Kan Seng will also attend the funeral which will be held at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on June 8.
During his visit to China, Lee Kuan Yew will address the 21st Century Forum on June 14 organized by the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Beijing and meet senior Chinese leaders, the statement said.
