ABC Issues More Than 30 Million Banking Cards
Latest statistics show that the total number of Jinsui Card, the banking card issued by the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), has exceeded 30 million, with card deposits surpassing 40 billion yuan (about 5.13 billion US dollars).
A spokesman for the ABC said that since the bank opened banking card business in 1991, it has maintained a healthy growth momentum, with the number of card issued, the outstanding card deposits and total card consumption value ranking high on the list of the country's major commercial banks.
He said that the ABC has basically established a nationwide network for banking card business that is supported by new and high technologies, connecting more than 300 cities, 86,000 commercial clients and over 42,000 banking card business outlets, as well as 53,000 POSs and 3,600 ATMs.
He said that presently the ABC is making further efforts to improve the environment for card business development, including the upgrading of the existing nationwide network and the construction of citywide networks.
