"Knowledge Project" First Launched in Qinghai
China's west has lately launched its first "knowledge project" in Golmud, the second largest city rising in Qinghai Province.
Chen Jiagui, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and other CASS experts inspected the Qiadam Basin of the province, a ceremony was held in this new rising industrial city lying in the west of the basin.
"Knowledge Project" is reported to be the first of its kind launched in China's western areas by CASS. Working personnel mainly from the CASS will devote themselves to various regional social and economic construction pursuits, reform and opening up by using their knowledge and wisdom and service in building up this part of the country.
