China to Refashion Teaching Material to Develop Centennial Higher Education

China has made a titanic effort to refashion teaching material to raise the country's education level of higher learning. It has published a large array of over 240 textbooks as new teaching material oriented towards the 21st century in developing higher education since 1995.

To raise China's level in higher education, the Ministry of Education lately saw to it that a symposium was specially called to probe into a new spectrum of textbooks and of teaching material in developing higher education in the 21st century. Sources say compared with ordinary types of teaching material, many and various outstanding aspects as of good utility, good practicability, new method and of noted guiding effect have been clearly shown. On top of these, a wide range of subjects will be taught including philosophy, economics, science of law, education, literature, history, engineering, agronomy, medicine, management etc. There will be 400 new textbooks to be published by yearend when new reforms are introduced.
