Women Active in Environmental ProtectionOn the eve of World Environmental Protection Day, the All-China Women's Federation launched a nationwide campaign entitled "Women, Home, Environment". Under the theme of "Reduce white pollution and create a clean environment", the campaign is aimed at raising women's awareness of environmental protection and encouraging people to use cloth instead of plastic bags.In Beijing, cloth bags carrying the words "Eliminate white pollution and build beautiful homes" were distributed early in streets in the morning, and many residents had willingly joined in the activity for a clean environment. In Heilongjiang, theatrical performances were staged and people were issued cloth bags through answering relevant questions. Children also expressed their hope by drawing blue sky, white clouds, and green grass pictures. Similar activities have also been held in Tianjin City, Anhui and Shaanxi Province. The All-China Women's Federation calls for women nationwide to make diligent effort to reduce and eliminate white pollution and improve their living environments. |
