Ancient city relics found in Shanxi Province

City relics were recently found in a small village in Xiangfen County, the southern part of Shanxi province. A section of the city wall, a hundred and thirty meters long, dates back forty-two hundred to forty-five hundred years ago.

Archaeologists say the relics date back to the last two of the Five Lords, Rao and Shun, before 2200 B.C. Many ancient tombs, more than four thousand years old, surround the city. Archaeologists have also found the world's earliest bronze wares in this area, as well as pottery with inscriptions on them.

The city relics, bronze ware, and inscriptions all point towards the existence of an early civilization.
