7 People Killed by Lightning in Southwest China
Seven herdsmen died and another three received serious injuries when they were struck by lightning over the weekend while tending their cattle on a hillside in mountainous Hezhang County of in the west Guizhou Province, southwest China.
An eight-year-old boy was the youngest victim; the oldest was 64, according to local officials.
Meteorologists said that the local climate usually becomes erratic in the summer months with a prevalence of thunderstorms, lightning and hail.
