Two Japanese master flower arrangers taught Chinese visitors "ikebana", or the art of arranging flowers, at a demonstration held in Beijing Saturday.
The demonstration was hosted by Beijing Municipal Association for Friendship With Foreign Countries and a Japanese corporation. Two hundred florists from north China attended the event.
While briefing Chinese audience on general artistic style and trends now popular in the world in arranging flowers, the two Japanese masters also showed them how to arrange flowers for occasions such as weddings and meetings.
Statistics show that annual sales of flowers has risen by 35 percent in China.
