Sun, Su Leads in Internet Voting

Sun Wen, who scored the winning goal in the Chinese national women's team's 1-0 victory over the United States on Wednesday in Australia, and Su Maozhen of Shandong Luneng Taishan, are taking the lead in Internet balloting for the best women's and men's soccer star.

Nipping at their heels are Li Bing of Sichuan Quanxing and Liu Ailing of Beijing.

Sun, from Shanghai, was named the best footballer and was the top scorer at the 1999 Women's World Cup in the United States.

Fans still can go to www.21sports.com and select who they think are China's best male and female soccer players.

A Shandong fan won a family sedan worth 60,000 yuan (US$7,000) after being selected in a lucky draw for simply taking part in the Internet balloting.
