Air Services Agreement Signed Between HK, Norway

The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) signed an air services agreement on Friday with the Government of the Kingdom of Norway.

"We have signed air services agreements with Denmark and Sweden earlier this year. I am glad that we have now signed air services agreements with all the three Scandinavian countries," said Stephen Ip, secretary for economic services of HKSAR, at the signing ceremony.

Ip said: "Although geographically far apart, Hong Kong and Norway have established close links with each other."

"The conclusion of the air services agreement Friday is an important milestone in our aviation relationship with Norway. At present only all-cargo services are being operated between Hong Kong and Scandinavia. I hope that passenger services will also be operated soon," Ip added.

Including this agreement, the number of air services agreements signed by Hong Kong amounts to 44.
