Chinese Robot to Kick for RoboCup
China Science and Technology University recently received a notice from the organizing committee for the fourth Robot Football RoboCup Tournament. The Robot Football Team will take part in the RoboCup tournament to be held this August in Melbourne of Australia. It's the first time for China to take part in this type of football event.
Robot football RoboCup tournament is an international robot football match of the highest level and on the largest scale. According to Chen Xiaoping, coach of the team of the China Science and Technology University, robot football game is actually a dual meet that involves the integration of frontier research and technology in such areas as intellect, robotics, communication, sensing, precision mechanism and bionic materials. The robot football game can give a concentrated reflection to the basic research and high-tech development level of a country's information and automation.
