Transnational Conference Organizer Tapping Chinese Market

The Conference Board (TCB), a U.S.- based conference organizer, announced recently that it will organize a meeting in Shanghai in June on financing and developing high-tech industries in China.

The two-day meeting, which will attract 300 scientists and finance and trade experts from all over the world, will be the first conference organized by TCB on China's mainland.

Daniel Zhu, TCB's program director, said that TCB has been intending to enter the Chinese market for a long time.

TCB has chosen Shanghai as its starting point to come into the Chinese mainland because the metropolis has been striving to become a key international city, Zhu said.

An increasing number of international conferences, including the Fortune Global Forum and the annual corporate conference of the U.S. Asia Society, have been held in the city.
