Pakistan Believes There Is Only One China: Spokesman
Pakistan Wednesday said Taiwan is an integral part of China and the recent statements of Chen
Shuibian of Taiwan are evasive and betray his lack of sincerity about "One China" policy.
"Pakistan believes that there is only one China," Foreign Office spokesman Iftikhar Murshid said in a statement.
He said, "Taiwan is an integral and inalienable part of the People's Republic of China, which is the sole legal government representing the whole of China including Taiwan."
He said the Taiwan issue is an internal affair of the People's Republic of China. "Outside powers should not meddle in China's internal affairs."
"The government of Pakistan is confident that like Hong Kong and Macao, Taiwan would soon return to the motherland," he added.
