Chinese Police Seizes 23 Stowaways

Chinese Frontier Police have seized 23 stowaways in Shenzhen in south China over the past week.

In two separate cases, frontier police stopped two fishing boats carrying 23 stowaways from Guangdong and Hainan provinces in south China. They were trying to flee from Shenzhen to Hong Kong but fell into the hands of police.

The stowaways have each paid 2,500-2,800 yuan to "snakeheads", underground organizers of illegal immigration.
