Seventy Percent of Macao Students Favor Ji'nan University

Ji'nan University, a university dedicated mainly to enrolling overseas Chinese students has become the first choice of Macao students for pursuing their higher education. Over 1,280 Macao high school students have applied for the university this year, accounting for 70% of those graduates in Macao.

After Macao's return to the motherland, many students wish to study in Guangzhou. Some Macao students in Ji'nan university say "in China's inland universities there's a very sound morale in study and high level in learning. Guangzhou is not far from Macao with a similar lifestyle and habits, so it is easy to get adapted there in the city, and furthermore, we would have better chance to find a job in Macao after graduation".

At present, the university has more than 1,700 Macao students on campus. With Hong Kong and Macao returning to motherland in succession, the university has a brighter vista in recruiting Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other students from overseas. This year, 670 undergraduates and 180 junior university students are expected to be taken in from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other alien lands.

According to incomplete statistics, more than 2000 Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas students are ready to apply for the university.
