More Household Electrical Appliances Produced in China
The production of most household electrical appliances grew steadily in the first three months of this year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics on May 30.
The output of household refrigerators jumped 13.9 percent year on year to 2.98 million, while that of color TV sets dropped 2.9 percent to 10.33 million.
The latest figures from the bureau show that the country produced 3.59 million air conditioners in the January-March period, soaring 22.4 percent on an annual basis.
At the same time, the output of household washing machines climbed 12.0 percent to 4.25 million, and that of video recorders surged 13.6 percent to 1.08 million.
China has taken measures to stimulate domestic demand. Its anti-smuggling drive has also promoted sales of China-made household electric appliances.
