Chinese Doctor Publicizes Antidote of PesticideA Chinese doctor publicized the formula of an antidote that he developed to save human lives from a prohibited pesticide on the Internet. The antidote against the highly toxic tetramine can be found on two websites: www.hospl.ac.cn and www.chinainfo.gov.cn. Ying Binyu, a doctor from the No.2 Hospital attached to the Wenzhou Medical School in Zhejiang province in east China, said that he hopes his discovery will be used to save as many lives as possible. Tetramine was invented by Bayer AG of Germany in 1949, but due to its side effects the company stopped producing the pesticide long ago. China has also long prohibited its production and use because of high risks to human beings. However, some underground workshops in China still produce such pesticide. Over the past few years, more than 1,000 people have been killed by the pesticide each year.
