Shenzhen Residents Having Highest Income in China

People in the south China city of Shenzhen, China's first Special Economic Zone, continued to enjoy the highest income among the 35 major Chinese cities, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

Figures released by the bureau show that in March, residents in Shenzhen had a per-capita monthly income of 1,677.20 yuan, and a per-capita monthly disposable income of 1,667.55 yuan, with their per-capita monthly living expenditure standing high at 1226. 77 yuan.

The city was followed by Guangzhou and Shanghai in terms of monthly per-capita income and disposable income. The per-capita monthly income in Guangzhou was 1,076.70 yuan and that of Shanghai 895.31 yuan.

The average per-capita monthly income of 35 major Chinese cities stood at 647.61 yuan, with a per-capita monthly disposable income of 643.53 yuan and a per-capita monthly living expenditure of 492.47 yuan.
