Early Vertebrate Fossils Found in North ChinaArchaeologists with the Chinese Academy of Sciences recently found vertebrate fossils of the early Cretaceous Period at several places in northern China.The fossils were found in Ningcheng County in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and neighboring Lingyuan County in northeast China's Liaoning Province. Experts have confirmed that the fossils mainly belong to about seven categories, including a large number of tailed amphibians, which demonstrate the abundance of biological groups in the region. Experts also believe that these findings will provide important clues for comparing fossils of the same period found in neighboring countries including Mongolia and Russia. |
