Compilation of "Counties in Prospectus" Expected in China
"Counties in Prospectus" is expected as has been planned as a multi-volume work to be compiled in serials dedicated to a full representation and factual record of basic conditions and developments of all counties in China.
Acting on President Jiang Zemin's instruction on promoting nationwide education, a Chinese Counties Compilation Committee has been formed by related state departments of the State Council.
The Committee will be entrusted with the task of compiling a multi-volume work in representing great successes made in politics, economy and social development at a county level since reform and opening-up and as great work to further promote exchanges and strengthen cooperation between counties. It will take three and a half years to complete compilation of the work. A factual record will be made by "Counties in Prospectus" of rich material resources with respect to basic local conditions and developments, administration, natural conditions, resources advantages, economic development status and prospect, social development, folk custom, tourism exploitation, star villages, backbone enterprises and cooperation projects, amongst the others.
Some leaders from the State Council and many famous experts and scholars will be invited as consultants to the compilation work; local leading personnel from all counties will also officiate as editors of the work.
"Counties in Prospectus", 32 mo in size, following international standard in printing, pictures excel to match articles, will be put out for wide distribution both in China and abroad.
