A symposium on China's lawyers development strategy in the new century was held lately in Shanghai, according to news reports in our Daily.
The symposium pointed out that Chinese lawyers must do down-to-earth work, always be creative and seek for development against all possible challenges unexpected. About 500 extinguished lawyers, exports and scholars from across China were present at the meeting, co-sponsored by All-China Lawyers Federation and Shanghai Lawyers Association.
Duan Zhengkun, vice director of the Ministry of Justice, said at the symposium that China must launch its lawyers service industry at a world level and along a modern specialized standard line and provide better legal service to help advance social civilization. Hu Kangsheng, vice director of the Law Committee of the National People's Congress, also made a speech at the gathering.
