China to Exhibit Dali Paintings

The China Art Gallery plans to exhibit the paintings of Salvador Dali, one of the most influential surrealist artists of the 20th century.

The Dali exhibit is scheduled for June 9-27, and will feature 20 oil paintings and 38 sketches by the Spanish artist, the Ministry of Culture said on May 29.

Dali is widely regarded as one of the century's most masterful and prolific painters.

Some of his best-known works will be included in the Beijing exhibition, organizers said.

Many European and American museums and art galleries have collections of Dali's works, while at the same time many fake Dali painting frequently appear in the global art market.
