Buick GL, a sedan made by Shanghai General Motors Co. Ltd, passed a safety performance test on Friday in Tianjin, the leading port city in north China, "China Daily" reports.
The test was conducted at the China National Sedan Quality Supervision and Examination Center. It proves that the safety performance of Buick GL meets China's motor vehicle design regulations.
The sedan tested was chosen from more than 160 random samples by the center and the quality supervision agency of Shanghain municipal government.
The Buick GL8, a luxury wagon that began being produced last year in Shanghai GM, also passed the same test at the center, which is co-sponsored by the State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, the State Administration of Machine-Building Industry and the State Environmental Protection Administration.
