Website on Tibetan Information Opens
Internet surfers who are interested in Tibet Autonomous Region can now access a new website: "www. tibetinfor.com", which officially opened Thursday in Beijing.
It is the largest Chinese Language website on Tibet, according to its owner, the Wuzhou Pan-China Networking and Information Co., Ltd..
Before visiting Tibet for the first time, people can browse information which includes travel routes, weather, languages, medical issues, custom and traditions.
The website has almost 20 special columns and 150 information columns on geography, tourism, Tibetan Buddhism, culture and arts. It also contains 10,000 pictures, a large number of movies and TV programs as well as books and songs.
The website plans to open another two versions in English and Tibetan languages and will be connected to other websites related to Tibet. The website will also be engaged in e-business, providing information for those interested in Tibet handicrafts and souvenirs.
