Man Hijacks PAL Plane, Then Jumps Out
A Philippine Airlines (PAL) domestic plane from Davao with 278 passengers on board was hijacked on May 25 afternoon by an armed man who later jumped off the plane with an undisclosed amount of money collected from the passengers.
The Philippine Airlines Airbus A330 landed safely in Manila almost an hour late with a rear door badly damaged after it was forced open in flight to let the hijacker bail out over the capital.
The hijacking is the latest in a series of incidents highlighting deteriorating security in the Philippines.
