Macao Chief Executive Ends Visit to Portugal, France
Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), completed his visit to Portugal and France and returned to Macao Thursday night.
The successful visit shows that Macao has a larger range of foreign-related activities after its return to the motherland, the chief executive said, adding that the visit will strengthen ties between Macao and Europe.
In Portugal, he met with Portuguese president, premier, foreign minister and other officials, and signed an agreement to encourage and protect mutual investment. In France, he met with French president and a group of people with the business sector.
It was the first foreign visit since Ho became the Macao chief executive in December 1999. He left Macao on May 16.
