Sino-Japanese Agreement on Personnel Training in Water Resources

China and Japan on May 25 signed an agreement on training Chinese personnel in the area of water resources.

Under the five-year accord, Japan will transfer advanced technical know-how and experience on water resources management, water and soil maintenance as well as training management to China.

In addition, the two countries will organize about 40 courses to train high-quality talent in terms of sustainable use of water resources in China.

Chinese Vice-Minister of Water Resources Zhai Haohui and Nobuyuki Sugimoto, minister for economic affairs of the Japanese embassy in Beijing, expressed the hope that Sino-Japanese cooperation in the area of water conservation will contribute to the growth of bilateral relations.

The training program will be implemented by China's Ministry of Water Resources and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
