Foreign Funds For Power Project in China's West
The Bank of China recently raised 220 billion francs for a hydropower plant project in Zhile of southwest China's Sichuan Province.
A local bank official said that 80 percent of loans came from the French government. The rest was provided by various French banks. The funds will be used to purchase hydrogenerators for the project.
The Zhile hydropower Plant will be located in the upper reaches of the Nanya River, a branch of the Dadu River, one of the major rivers in China's west.
