Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region will send 150 people to study scientific technology and management expertise in foreign countries in the next five years.
According to the region's Science and Technology Bureau, the region has sent the first group of 21 people to study environmental protection, ecology and land management in Australia this year.
In the past several years, Ningxia has sent people to learn water-saving technology in Israel, grape cultivation technology in France, and technologies for raising silkworms and planting mulberry trees in Brazil. These technologies have greatly helped improve local agricultural production efficiency and have made some local farmers become wealthy.
Ningxia plans to send officials from government organs, enterprises, as well as personnel from science and technology, finance, law enforcement sectors to study overseas in the coming years.
