China to Unify Social Security NetworksChina is expected to fully unify its social security networks thanks to the gradual introduction of computer systems across the country.According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, an information system on social security management and operations has been created to provide technical support for the unification of the social security networks. A government-operated social security system is now being introduced in every city and town in China to facilitate the transformation from a planned economy to a market economy. However, each city and town has its own social security office and operates on its own, with no direct information linkage among them. |
