Sixth Port in Liaoning ProvinceAll of the six coastal cities in northeast China's Liaoning Province now have their own port with the recent opening of its sixth port in the province.The new port in Panjin, located at the Bohai Rim and costing 127 million yuan to build, has four docks and is designed to mainly handle commodities for daily use and oil products from the nearby Liaohe Oilfield, the third largest oilfield in the nation. With the building of a number of expressways linking cities in central Liaoning Province, the provincial capital Shenyang and Beijing, the port is expected to develop into a comprehensive commercial port and facilitate the opening-up of cities in central Liaoning Province, experts said. |
