Japan Urged to Take Proper Attitude Towards History

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue Thursday urged Japan to take a proper attitude towards the history, and to prevent a historical recurrence.

Zhang made the remarks in response to a question concerning recent remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori that Japan is a divine country with the emperor at the core.

China hopes that Japan would draw on deep lessons from the history, and continue to take the cause of peace and development, she noted.

According to her, China is considering sending a senior delegation to attend the funeral for late Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi.
