Bird Discovered on Tibetan Islands

A group of 16 islands with a variety of birds have recently been found at Yamzho Lake in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

Yamzho Lake, the largest inland lake in southern Tibet, has a water surface of 638 square kilometers with an elevation of 4,400 meters. The lake is dotted with 16 islands of different sizes.

Thousands of birds migrated to Seduo Island recently. They include brown-head gulls, black-neck cranes and Tibetan snow roosters. "The island has 2,800 bird nests," said a local bird watcher.
