Han Dynasty Tomb Discovered in East ChinaChinese archeologists have discovered a tomb dating back to Han Dynasty (206 B.C - 220 A.D.) in this coastal city of east China's Shandong Province.The tomb was excavated in a small village in Huibu township of Qingdao city. More than 60 antiques have been unearthed including bronze containers, steel implements, jade wares and 16 bronze mirrors. Rare articles include a bronze pot standing over 60 centimeters high and a bronze mirror with a diameter of 23 centimeters. This is the largest ancient tomb ever unearthed in Qingdao City, according to Wang Yongzhang, director of the city's Bureau of Cultural Affairs. Local archeologists said relics of another tomb of Han Dynasty have been discovered nearby which provides possible clues to a cluster of tombs in the area. |
