Qingdao to Host 2000 Overseas/Ethnic Chinese Forum

Qingdao, Shandong Province will host 2000 Overseas/Ethnic Chinese Forum from September 19 to 21, said Li Haifeng, vice director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council Tuesday at a press conference.

Important discussions centering on the prospects of China's economic, scientific and technological development in the 21st century will be held to enhance worldwide cooperation in these areas with overseas/ethnic Chinese abroad and solicit opinion and suggestions to revitalize the Chinese nation geared to the 21st century, the official said.

The forum will also highlight the positive contributions made by overseas/ethnic Chinese in China's construction and international co-operation in face of a globalization of the world economies

About 500 delegates including top 10 richest Chinese entrepreneurs, Nobel Prize winners and famous social activists will attend the forum, she said.
