CPPCC Vice-Chairman Zhao Puchu Passes AwayZhao Puchu, vice-chairman of the 9th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), died from illness at 5 p.m. Sunday in Beijing. He was 93.Zhao was also the honorary chairman of 10th Central Committee of China Association for Promoting Democracy and president of the Chinese Buddhist Association. He was a noted public figure in the country, an outstanding patriotic religious leader and a close friend of the Chinese Communist Party. |
