China Supports Efforts to Restore Normal Situation in Gulf Region
China supports and welcomes any effort to restore normal situation in the Gulf region, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said Monday.
Commenting on recent proposals by the Qatari foreign minister on normalizing relations between Kuwait and Iraq at a seminar, Zhang said that these proposals warrant attention, and China is willing to maintain contacts with Qatar and other parties concerned to seek an early settlement of the Iraqi issue, which she believes will be conducive to regional peace and stability.
