60Kg/m38 Switch Passed State Appraisal in China

A new switch for high-speed railways, 60kg/m38 has succeeded in passing tech test on China's first high-speed passenger railway from Qinhuangdao to Shenyang organized by the Ministry of Railways lately.

Co-manufactured by Shanhaiguan Bridge Plant with its cooperators, 60kg/m38 sows good performance at a speed of 250 km, as the largest in number and of the latest in technology. It marks a great success by Chinese manufactories in developing new high-speed railway devices of their own in China.

Switch is indispensable for railway transport due to its pivotal function as it decides the speed and safety of running trains. By their manufacture of 60kg/m38 switch, Shanhaiguan Bridge Plant and its cooperators have made a great breakthrough in the use of new material, new technology, new techniques and new structure. The manufactories for the first time have high-intensity rail with a PD3 strength of over than 1,000 mega-pa introduced, thus solving the tech nut in welding and precision finishing of over-long sharp rails.

Apart from meeting the demand for passenger railway transportation on the Qinhuangdao-Shenyang, the new switch has also laid good ground for further developing new high-speed railway switches in China.
