China to Launch Anti-drug Education

The National Narcotics Control Committee (SNCC) issued a circular lately, demanding a nationwide campaign in China to "popularize anti-drug knowledge and raise the anti-drug awareness" of people upon the upcoming International Anti-Drug Day which falls on June 26.

According to NNCC's circular, all provincial drug control institutions and subsidiaries throughout China must lose no time in carrying out a countrywide drug control publicity campaign about the knowledge and harm to use drug, especially an education among Chinese youngsters to help them keep far away from drug. To this end, NNCC has called on all primary and middle schools to give lessons on drug control and full publicity work by news media on drug control at various levels and in various places throughout China.
