CPPCC Vice-Chairman Zhao Puchu Passes Away
Zhao Puchu, vice-chairman of the 9th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), died from illness at 5 p.m. Sunday in Beijing. He was 93.
Zhao was also the honorary chairman of 10th Central Committee of China Association for Promoting Democracy and president of the Chinese Buddhist Association.
He was a noted public figure in the country, an outstanding patriotic religious leader and a close friend of the Chinese Communist Party.
