Fourth Session of Sino-Rwanda Joint Committee for Economic, Trade Cooperation Concludes

The fourth session of the China- Rwanda Joint Committee for Economic, Trade Cooperation concluded on May 19.

Shi Guangsheng, Chinese minister of foreign trade and economic cooperation, and Andre Bumaya, Rwanda minister of foreign affairs and regional cooperation, signed an agreement of economic and technological cooperation between the two countries and the summary of the fourth session.

Shi said that the Chinese government provided aid to the Rwanda government. This once again shows the sincerity of the Chinese government in supporting the Rwanda government in developing its national economy.

China and Rwanda are both developing countries, Shi noted, adding that the two sides have been conducting wide-ranging and fruitful cooperation in the economic, trade, and other areas.

Shi said that the Chinese government will continue to provide aid to the Rwanda government within its capacity in the future, particularly in some medium-sized and small production programs and social welfare projects in Rwanda.

The Chinese government will continue to encourage Chinese enterprises to cooperate with their Rwanda counterparts, Shi noted. He said that during the fourth session, the two sides reviewed the development of bilateral economic and trade relations since the conclusion of the previous session.

The two sides also exchanged views on expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and discussed some new ways to further develop bilateral economic and trade relations, he noted.

He said that he hopes the two sides will work together to carry out various items reached between the two sides in the summary, in a bid to push friendly cooperative ties between the two countries to a new stage.
