HK Leader Calls on New Taiwanese Leader to Accept One China Principle

Special Administrative Region Tung Chee Hwa Saturday called for clear acceptance of the one China principle by the new Taiwanese leader.
"Our earnest hope is to see reunification of the country at an early date. The 'one China' principle receives wide support in
Hong Kong
. We hope the new Taiwanese leader will signify clearly acceptance of the one China principle so that the objective of peaceful reunification can be achieved at an early date," Tung said in response to the new Taiwanese leader's address earlier Saturday.
