China to Further Develop Ties With Peru

China is willing to further develop the relations with Peru, Li Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said Lima Friday.

"China is willing to develop friendly relations with all countries including Peru on the basis of the five principles of peaceful co-existence. Thus, we hope to have as more friends as possible," said Li at a meeting with Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Bustamante.

While upholding the foreign policy of independence and self-reliance, the Chinese government has taken peace and friendship as a goal and principle in dealing with foreign affairs, said Li, who arrived Lima Friday for an official visit.

Earlier on Friday, Li held talks with Peruvian Congress President Martha Hildebrandt.

Peru is Li's last leg of his four-nation tour, which also took him to Canada, Venezuela, and Trinidad and Tobago.
