National "Best Stamp" Selections in East China Province
The 20th China Best Stamp Selections and Awards began Friday in Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province.
The set of stamps titled "People's Unity," issued last year to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic, won the first prize for 1999.
Along with the election and awards, exhibitions of very valuable stamps such as those issued during the Cultural Revolution were staged.
The annual selection started in 1981 and to dates nearly 10 million people have taken part in the activity.
